Tuxedo Jackets Are No Longer Black Tie?
Tux jackets have been quietly dressing down over the past few years. No doubt feeling suffocated by their Beluga caviar and champagne trappings, tuxedos are demanding to have their standards relaxed. Note, these looks are more appropriate for dressy casual situations rather than strict black tie.
When chosen well, the casual tux or evening jacket, is actually a solid investment piece since the typical guy needs more options for dressy casual events than formal ones.
These aren't your traditional Men's Wearhouse penguin suits, the new evening jacket is edgier, trimmer cut, and not at all stuffy.
Another key to executing the dressed down tux trend correctly is the pairing, there's no tuxedo shirt in sight. Wear the evening jacket with a silk polo, casual button down, or well chosen tee.
